Project: Tourism & Cultural Facility, SA

Location Challenges: The cultural facility respects the indigenous population of the area. It also has many features that embrace the bush location, but that are in accordance with the necessary requirements for building in high fire risk area.
Design Aspects: It was imperative that the design of the building considered bushfire protection including spray systems over the roof, rainwater storage under the building to support the spray system and special glazing that can tolerate extra heat. Materials and products were selected to minimise combustion.
