Project: Berri/Barmera recreational Centre (Feasibility Study)
Location: Berri, SA
Location Challenges: An enormous amount of community, council and stakeholder consultation was involved in the report process. The land that had been initially chosen had a range of issues and may have required relocation of a street. However, since the initial design was tabled another site nearby has been selected.
Innovation: Project stakeholders included local schools looking at a ‘Super School’ concept and the possibility of sharing with other groups including community special schools. The project cost is significant and the Education Department and local councils has contributed significant funds.
Specialist Expertise: The feasibility study is detailed and extensive and encompasses as many elements as possible associated with Recreational and Swimming Centres. It was considered an exceptional report and the whole community is very excited with the plan.
