Project: Holiday Home, Clayton Bay
Location: Clayton Bay, SA
Innovation: We incorporated rounded timber trusses at a pitch that allows the colourbond roof sheets to arc at their maximum curvature without having to be rolled, which saves a good deal of money.
Design Aspects: The house has round windows as a nautical feature, given its location near water, and the front bay windows also have a rounded curve which is a featured desired by the owner.
Environmental Innovation: Across the front elevation Comfort Glass has been used, which maximises the thermal efficiency of the glazing.
Specialist Expertise: This house was designed for an owner/builder. When designing for owner/builders it’s necessary to provide a lot more information in the plans and specifications so that they can feel comfortable building it.
