Project: Residential dwelling, Finniss (1) SA
Location: Finniss, SA
Location Challenges: The Hanley house project is totally power and water self sufficient. Essentially it has a solar power and generator system with generator backup. Given the distance of the proposed building to the closest stobie pole, by having a self sufficient energy generation system the owners were able to save about $70,000.
Design Aspects: This is an owner/builder house and they used Hebel power panels for the walls and a lot of insulation SL which has been very successful. With the North-South aspect and the southerly breezes the owners can open up all the windows to flush out hot air in summer.
Specialist Expertise: EnvironArc was able to provide the owner/builders with registered builder support when required.
