NABERS (the National Australian Built Environment Rating System) for existing buildings is a performance-based rating system.
Measured operational impacts on the environment are rated under NABERS for commercial office, hotel, retail or residential buildings.
Our accredited NABERS Assessor measures an existing building’s environmental performance during operation. Using NABERS, our assessor rates a building on the basis of its measured operational impacts – these may include energy, water, waste and the indoor environment.
Areas of impact to consider within the NABERS Assessment;
- Lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation systems which use energy
- The daily use of water for drinking, air-conditioning and toilets
- The total waste generated
- The effect of a building’s air quality on the occupants
- Ecological and biodiversity issues brought about by construction and tenancy of buildings
- Redirected and concentrated issues surrounding the natural storm water flows
- The use of toxic materials in the building
